| Jelous Indian army subjects football fans to torture in Occupied Kashmir |
Indian police subjected football fans to severe
torture while in custody after arresting them for
shouting pro-freedom and pro-Pakistan slogans
during a football match in Srinagar, Occupied
Kashmir.
Indian troops and police personnel
arrested the youth during the final match of
Santosh Trophy held at Bakshi Stadium in Srinagar
on Sunday. Slogans like “Hum Kya Chahte Aazadi”
and “Jeeve Jeeve Pakistan” reverberated the jam-
packed stadium all through the match, which was
witnessed among others by puppet Chief Minister,
Ghulam Nabi Azad and Indian Minister for
Information and Broadcasting, Priya Ranjan
Dasmunshi.
The football fans, on their appearance
before the court, told the chief judicial
magistrate that they were brutally tortured by
the police in custody and were threatened to be
implicated in false cases and then killed in a
fake encounter. Counsel for the youth argued that
it was evident from their bodies that they had
been tortured, adding, “Mere raising of slogans
doesn’t amount to offence. Even the Supreme Court
and the High Court have observed that it is no
offence,” he said.
The court observed that maltreatment of
any of the accused was not acceptable and ordered
that they should be referred to hospital for
medical treatment.

| The Hindu puts its reputation on the line |
One of India’s leading newspapers, The Hindu, has
published an article titled, ‘Pakistan’s Islamist
press calls for jihad’, on the front page of its
August 28, 2007 issue.

This ‘article’ was written by Praveen Swami.
Praveen Swami often writes unsubstantiated drivel
against Jama’t-ud-Da’wah, but we have always
ignored it because we believe the truth speaks
for itself, and moreover, there is no point in
giving undue importance to hogwash and propaganda
by responding to it. Yet, today, breaking our
tradition of the past, we have decided to expose
some lies published by The Hindu, not only for
the sake of the record, but also for the sake of
exposing The Hindu’s anti-Muslim bias, bigotry,
its ill intent, and its wanton trampling of
fundamental journalistic ethics.
In his ‘article’, (if that is what this piece of
cheap propaganda can be called,) Praveen Swami
writes: “Lashkar-e-Taiba chief Hafiz Mohammad
Saeed, in turn, used the July 20 rape and murder
of north Kashmir teenager to call for escalated
violence.” - First of all, Hafiz Saeed is
not ‘Lashkar-e-Taiba chief’ as Praveen Swami has
written. Not only has Jama’t-ud-Da’wah said this
over and over again on its website, as well as in
various statements issued from time to time, but
even the Lahore High Court, in a 2002 decision
regarding Hafiz Saeed’s detention at the time,
has declared that Hafiz Saeed has absolutely no
association with Lashkar-e-Taiba, nor is he
its ‘chief’. And once again, for Praveen Swami’s
benefit, Prof. Hafiz Muhammad Saeed is ‘Ameer’
of ‘Jama’t-ud-Da’wah’. Basic journalistic ethics
demand that Hafiz Saeed should be described as
what he is; but then journalistic ethics is not
something The Hindu seems too concerned with.
This becomes more and more apparent when one
reads further into the ‘article’.
The second thing worth mentioning is that no
statement or article by Prof. Hafiz Muhammad
Saeed ever appeared on Jama’t-ud-Da’wah’s website
on July 22, 2007 as has been mentioned by Praveen
Swami. One wonders why Praveen Swami tried to
fool the editor of The Hindu; or is it the Indian
people that he has tried to fool? Whatever bluff
he tried to pull off, he did succeed in securing
a front page place for his ‘story’. Moreover,
Hafiz Saeed has never, in any article, or speech,
or otherwise, ever said that, quote; “The Indian
Army,” he wrote in July 22 article published on
the terror group’s website, “is raping the
daughters of Islam. How can we tolerate this? We
will kill every single soldier of the Indian Army
and take revenge for the honour of our sisters.
Let India deploy more soldiers in Kashmir so that
our mujahideen have more pigs to hunt.”
Had Praveen Swami not clearly lied in
the ‘article’, a hyperlink would have been given
to the original quoted text on our website, but
since there was no such text on our website,
Praveen Swami decided to insult the intelligence
of The Hindu’s readership by manufacturing a lie.
It seems Praveen Swami has stooped to selling
concocted ‘table stories’ and The Hindu’s editor
has taken to buying them for lack of better
material.
Praveen Swami’s trail of lies does not end here.
He goes on to write; ‘“India and other foreign
powers,” Saeed told a congregation at Lahore’s al-
Qadsia mosque on July 20, “are involved in the
recent spate of bomb blasts in Pakistan.”’ The
statement issued by Hafiz Saeed of July 20, 2007
is still available on the website for anyone to
see for themselves. Not only is it still there,
it has been preserved intact in the e-
mail ‘inbox’ of scores of journalists who
received that press release. The actual words of
that statement are; “Ameer, Jama’t-ud-Da’wah
Pakistan, Hafiz Muhammad Saeed, has said India
and other foreign forces (not ‘powers’ as Praveen
Swami has written) were involved in the recent
spate of bomb blasts in Pakistan. He said the US,
India, and Israel, are working on a coordinated
plan to divide Pakistan.”

One wonders where Praveen Swami found the next
sentence; ‘“Only India could be behind the recent
attacks because only a Hindu could do it. No
Muslim can think of shedding the blood of another
Muslim.”’ That sentence not only does not exist
in that particular statement, it is nowhere to be
found in the whole website. That is because even
though a concerted campaign of genocide against
Muslims has been carried out by Hindu terrorist
organizations in India, yet Jama’t-ud-Da’wah has
never blamed the Hindu peoples for these
atrocities, except to criticize the anti-Islam
and anti-Pakistan policies of the Indian
government. This is the reason that, even today,
many Hindu homes in the Sindh province of
Pakistan proudly fly Jama’t-ud-Da’wah’s flag
because Jama’t-ud-Da’wah has always supported
them in their hour of need.
Praveen Swami is a proponent of hatred. Every
one of his ‘articles’ are meant to promote hate.
So much so, that he does not even shy from
writing lies for sake of promoting hatred and
prejudice. Moreover, a closer examination of the
first and second part of the said paragraph
displays a clear contradiction: The first
mentions ‘India and other foreign powers’, while
the second says that ‘Only India could be behind
the terrorist attacks…’ Praveen Swami has tried
to sew a patch of lies into the original text,
but this ugly patch is clearly discernable.
Had Praveen Swami written a single lie, one would
have ignored it as a simple mistake, but in this
case one lie comes on the heel of another, on and
on. For example, the ‘article’ says
that; ‘Writing in the July 30 edition of the
Daily Jasarat, which has an estimated circulation
of 50,000, Lashkar deputy chief Abdul Rahman
Makki demanded that General Musharraf’s
regime “discard the pro-United States policy that
has weakened the Kashmir cause. It is time to
adopt a pro-jihad and pro-jihadi policy. You give
us the country for six months and we will conquer
Kashmir. We will also force the Americans out
from Afghanistan.”’ Fact: The July 30, 2007
Jasarat did not carry any article, speech, or
statement by Hafiz Abd-ur-Rahman Makki. (Jasarat
maintains an archive of past issues on its
website too, and this fact can be verified there).
And as far as the statement itself is concerned,
Hafiz Abd-ur-Rahman Makki has never said
that “You give us the country for six months and
we will conquer Kashmir. We will also force the
Americans out from Afghanistan.” This allegation
is false for another reason too, and that is that
Jama’t-ud-Da’wah has never demanded a share of
power in Pakistan’s governance, nor has it ever
tried to grab a share of power in the country’s
governance because this is in direct conflict
with Jama’t-ud-Da’wah’s policy. Our policy is to
bring people toward the right path. It is our
policy to bring about a positive improvement in
individuals, in society, and in the government.
Praveen Swami has invented and written a big lie
in the ‘article’, one can even call it
the ‘mother of all lies’; ‘In another attack on
General Musharraf, published on the Lashkar
website on August 8, Saeed asserted that “Muslim
rulers have disappointed the Ummah [worldwide
Muslim community]. It is time to wage jihad
against them. They are not Muslims. They are the
agents of Jews.”’ - For the record, Hafiz Saeed
has never, in all his life, ever advocated jihad
against Muslim rulers. The above mentioned
sentence cannot be found in any literature of
Jama’t-ud-Da’wah, old or new. And of course, the
other part of the lie is that no statement by
Hafiz Saeed was posted on the website on August
8, 2007. His statement regarding Khilafah
(Caliphate) was posted on the website on August

What Praveen Swami has written is nowhere to be
found in this statement. If Praveen Swami claims
that it was there earlier and has now been
removed, then the answer is that any statement by
Hafiz Saeed found on the website is first sent to
local English language newspapers, and at times
international media too and then later posted on
Jama’t-ud-Da’wah’s website. Press releases sent
locally, as well as internationally, are also
sent to The Hindu’s representative in Islamabad
too, as she is already on our mailing list.
Praveen Swami has been emboldened to write one
lie after another, continuously, because we chose
to ignore his drivel in the past, but he has
crossed the line this time around. He has
concocted every word concerning Hafiz Saeed, all
by himself, and everything that he wrote
regarding Hafiz Abd-ur-Rahman Makki is also
baseless, completely false, and totally
manufactured, without any references at all.
Jama’t-ud-Da’wah’s website is regularly visited,
and the material there is read, by many Indian
journalists, while many organizations and
institutions have assigned their employees or
members to monitor our website, yet it seems no
one was able to fish out the kind of material
that Praveen Swami was able to pull up.
The question, then, is: Why did Praveen Swami
have to write lies about us when the truth was
already available? Why is he trying to mislead
the Indian public? But the most important
question is: Will the editor of such a
prestigious newspaper as The Hindu maintain its
standards and apologize to us and to its readers
for publishing these lies, or at the least offer
some explanation, or do they believe it is
acceptable to lie about one’s adversaries? We
would also like to ask the rest of the Indian
journalist community: Will any one of you stand
up for basic journalistic standards and ethics
and expose the blunders of The Hindu? We are
ready to challenge Praveen Swami at any forum to
prove his lies. Does Praveen Swami have the
courage to confront us on some TV channel in a
live exchange? These questions are a debt for
Indian media. Let us see when the Indian media
pays off this debt.

| Pakistan: Problem is United States not local militants |
We are told, today Pakistan faces the worst
crises since its inception. This crisis is named
terrorism or talibanization of the country. Since
siding with US `War on Terror` and pressure from
United States, Pakistani government is busy
killing, kidnapping and torturing their own
citizens. This is part of the policy of Musharraf
government to walk the tight rope where to keep
Americans happy but at the same time do not
completely abandon their strategic assets i.e.
Taliban or jihadis completely. The latter is due
to the understanding in the ranks of military
that US is going to leave the region once her
foreign policy objectives are reached, leaving
Pakistan with hostile Northern Alliance along
with India on western borders. This sounds fair
enough on the part of Pakistan facing demands
from super power, but US have her own foreign
policy objective for Pakistan which is to weaken
Pakistan internally through a civil war and
destroy Pakistan nuclear deterrent. Part of the
policy is to put Pakistan army against its own
people. American presence in the region is due to
the rich Caspian Sea resources and to keep check
on both Russia and China. This requires Hamid
Karzai puppet government to be stabilized.
American presence is deeply unpopular amongst the
Afghanis who see them as occupiers along with
NATO. This view is shared amongst the Pushtoons
on both sides of the Durand Line. Faced with
rising resistance against the occupation,
Americans pushed Pakistan to crack down on
Pushtoons on the western borders of Pakistan.
However US planned this cleverly, CIA launched
covert operations in Pakistan with the full
knowledge of Musharraf administration as early as
late 2003 and early 2004 killing hundreds on the
western borders of Pakistan and Islamabad got the
blame. When the people of FATA started to call on
the government in Islamabad to stop supporting
Americans in this massacre this war became
Pakistan`s too. "Today what we see in Pakistan in
terms of suicide bombings and violence has
nothing to do with Islam". Hamid Gul former ISI
head quoted in Tehlka magazine saying "These are
revenge attacks. The girls who were burnt in Lal
Masjid were from Swat. I know that Lal Masjid
inmates were ready to surrender." Musharraf
policy to be compliant to every demand of
Americans has brought Pakistan to its knees. The
rising separatist movement in Baluchistan is also
down to not using political solution but
violence, causing widespread resentment against
Islamabad. Musharraf quoted during the killing of
Bugti "Don`t push us," "It isn`t the 1970s when
you can hit and run and hide in the mountains.
This time you won`t even know what hit you."
Instead of retaliating against US operations in
Pakistan. Musharraf government saw `Pakistan
interest first` in jointly killing Pakistani
citizens along side with US. United States now
made this war Pakistan`s problem. Musharraf
government is ready for deployment of American
troops inside Pakistan. This was revealed by
American Centcom chief Admiral William J. Fallen
by stating that "Pakistan army seems to be
willing for a broad based relationship with
American Army for dealing with insurgency in
tribal areas and training of the FC (Frontier
Constabulary) from American training centre." By
Touseef Zahid The deployment of American troops
under the guise of training of Pakistani troops
will seriously jeopardize the security of
Pakistan. Already, several reports have surfaced
in the American press regarding the US`s intent
of conducting Special Forces` operation to steal
or destroy Pakistani nuclear assets. Under such
circumstances, what "national interest" is being
served by inviting the biggest enemy`s troops
inside the country? Pakistani establishment must
realize that US will never deal with Pakistan
with honor and dignity Pakistan deserves. In the
eyes of Washington, Pakistan remains a slave who
they can slap as they wish. Thousands of
Pakistani soldiers and people have died in this
`war on terror` designed to secure American
colonial projects. The killing of Pakistanis and
Afghanis at the behest of America must be stopped
immediately. The people are aware that America
would never want to fight a nuclear Pakistan
openly, that is why America wants Pakistan to be
weakened through a civil war. Today, the greatest
danger to Pakistan is the agent rulers who weaken
Pakistan, upon instruction from the enemy.
America is given a new lease of life through the
daily slaughter of up to thirty to forty Muslims.
Was Pakistan ever the victim of such strife
before 9-11? Before America`s intervention in
Pakistan were there suicide attacks, even though
jihadi activists and so-called extremists were
present previously. So, to call such people the
cause of strife is nothing but a falsehood. In
fact, this strife is the outcome of Musharraf`s
senseless policies, under the banner of "Pakistan
First." Where is "Pakistan First" when this war
is being fought just forty kilometers away from
Peshawar and waged against Pakistanis themselves
by means of helicopters and tanks? Where is
Pakistan first, when Muslims are being killed on
both sides in this war, whilst the crusaders are
enjoying the show from the comfort of their
drawing rooms?

The People of kashmir are tring
for freedom from 60 years from india. But indian
army is killing kashmiri,s to stop them from
getting freedom. there are 800000 indian army in
kashmir.
And 100000 kashmiri,s are killed by india
in kashmir.india is donig terrorisam but why
america not stops this terrorisam and
when kashmiri people tries to defend themselves
and fight for freedom they are called
terrorists.kashmiri,s love pakistan because they
are muslims and most of rivers of pakistan comes
from kashmir.there are several reasons of love of
kashmiri,s with pakistan. but india not wants to
solve this problem.
but every kashmiri will fight for the
freedom and inshallah india will run away one day
from kashmir.
